Transitional Styles: Growing Out Relaxed Hair with Grace

The middle stage between relaxed and natural doesn't have to feel awkward. Here's how to style, protect, and thrive.

Transitional Styles: Growing Out Relaxed Hair with Grace

Transitioning from relaxed to natural hair is one of the most rewarding — and, at times, confusing — journeys a person with textured hair can take. The line where new growth meets processed ends is fragile, and the right protective styles make all the difference.

At Natrualz Beauty & Wellness, we love transitional styles like two-strand twists, chunky braids, mini twists, and roller sets. These styles blend the two textures beautifully while giving your natural pattern the space it needs to grow strong.

The most important rule during transition is moisture. Deep condition weekly, use a water-based leave-in, and seal with a natural oil. Our Growth Organics moisture treatments are specifically formulated to nourish new growth without weighing it down.

Trim regularly — every 8 to 12 weeks — to gradually remove the relaxed portion. And be gentle with the line of demarcation: this is where breakage most commonly happens. Silk or satin at night is non-negotiable.

Book a hair assessment with our team and we'll design a transition plan just for you.
