How to Prevent Split Ends on Natural Hair
Split ends travel up the strand and steal your length. Here's how to stop them before they start.

Split ends are the enemy of length retention. Once a strand splits, it will keep unraveling upward — undoing months of growth in a matter of weeks.
The good news: split ends are largely preventable. Moisture is your first line of defense. Dry, brittle hair snaps and splits under normal daily stress. Deep condition weekly and refresh with a leave-in mist between wash days.
Second, protect your ends. Tuck them into low-manipulation styles like buns, braids, twists, or updos. Every time your ends brush against a cotton collar, they lose a little more of their cuticle.
Third, trim on schedule. A tiny dust every 10 to 12 weeks preserves length far better than waiting until you're forced to cut inches off.
Finally, avoid heat and harsh chemicals. If you must use heat, always use a heat protectant and keep the temperature below 350°F. Book with us for a healthy trim and moisture treatment tailored to your hair.
